MBA Calls on Youth
To ‘Say Yes to Life’

We’re calling on all Americans,
but especially young people who believe in life, to stand up for the unborn the
way our founding Fathers stood up for the Declaration of Independence. That’s
the reason for our “50 million for life” campaign.
We’ve just passed the 50 million mark in the number of
surgical abortions since the abortion boom began. We’re looking for 50 million
pro-life Americans, young and old, who will stand up for each of those 50
million innocent victims of abortion.
That sounds like a big challenge,
but if you saw a little kid being beaten to death in a dark alley, you wouldn’t
just stand there, would you? You’d call
the police. You’d do something. All
we’re asking is for you to do what you can to help bring the pandemic of
abortion to an early end.
Americans are famous for acting
when any helpless creature is in jeopardy. Just ask any rescued puppy. Yet 50 million of our own children have had
their lives brutally terminated by abortion, and far too many of us have stood
silently by.
We’re especially calling on young people because it is
their generation that has been under attack for the last 40 years. And it is
their generation we must depend upon to change the direction in which America
has been going for the last four decades.
Fifty million abortions are equal
to the population of our 62 largest cities. It ‘s as if we had been nuked by
some invisible enemy and every last person in those 62 cities had been wiped
out. And if the toll from IUDs, RU-486, and abortifacient contraceptives is
included, that number climbs to nearly 120 million.
That’s 40 per cent of our total population. If any other
enemy had done that to us, is there any question that we would have retaliated
against such an enemy with all our might?
But the most crushing blow is what
the abortion boom is doing to our younger generation. Abortion is essentially a
“war against the young.” That 120 million toll is equivalent to two-thirds of
all the babies born since the Baby Bust began.
Eliminating that many people has
cut the youth market in half. It has dramatically changed the forces of supply
and demand in the economy and deeply affected the family and society.
It is the younger generation that is going to have to
work twice as hard and pay twice as much in taxes as the one before it. They
will pay far more into Social Security and Medicare than they will ever get out
of them, if they manage to collect anything at all.
But the real problem is not just
abortion.
It is that “we, the people” have
allowed a small, vocal minority to intimidate the rest of us into compliance
with their anti-life agenda. They dominate our media, and control one of our
major political parties, and the other is too fractured to mount a cohesive
front against it.
They have even managed to
intimidate our moral and spiritual leaders into fearful silence in the face of
evil. Orwellian thought control with a smiley face is a slippery enemy indeed.
The price traditional institutions
like the Catholic Church are paying for this passivity is mind boggling. There
are 12 million “missing Catholics” as a result of abortion, plus another 15
million who aren’t here because of abortifacient contraceptives.
That compares to just 18 million Catholics who attend
church every Sunday. What a decline from the late 1950’s when the Catholic
Church was growing at 5% to 6% a year!
Our research shows that there are still 200 million
Americans who consider themselves pro-life compared to 80 million who are
pro-abortion. This “silent majority”
must be silent no more.
Our “50 Million for Life” campaign calls for all Americans
of good will to take these simple steps:
1. Help break down the wall
of denial that keeps abortion alive.
We need to end the moral relativism that says killing an unborn child is just a
matter of “choice.”
2. Forget the media. We have
to assume responsibility for educating ourselves and our friends and families on the very real consequences of abortion – morally,
spiritually, economically -- and on the
kind of future we expect to leave our children and grandchildren.
3. We have to identify the
real victims of abortion . . . the 120
million “missing” Americans and the generation from which they came. This “war
against the young” must end.
4. We must rally the younger
generation to this cause. Half of the
generation under 40 has been eliminated by the abortion boom . . . the same
toll taken by the Black Death in 14th Century Europe. It is time to join hands – young and old --
and raise a great hue and cry about it.
5. Make a commitment to
pray, sacrifice, work and witness for life especially in this election year. To do nothing in the
face of evil is to cooperate in its triumph.
6. Help spread the word
about this campaign. If you will forward this to 10 friends . . .
who will tell 10 friends . . . we will have no trouble reaching millions of
Americans who still believe in the Declaration of Independence and in their
God-given right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of genuine happiness.
